Our Goal
ElectricityBillcalc.com exists to give Indian electricity consumers a fast, free, transparent way to estimate their power bills and understand how tariff slabs, surcharges, and subsidy schemes actually work. We aim for every figure and every explanation on this site to be as reliable, well-researched, and current as we can make it, and to be upfront whenever a number is an estimate rather than an official one.
How Content Is Produced
- Tariff figures are sourced from official SERC tariff orders and DISCOM publications — see Data Sources.
- Explanatory content (guides, FAQs, "how to pay" steps) is written in-house and periodically reviewed against current DISCOM processes.
- Calculation logic is documented in full on our Methodology page, so anyone can check exactly how a number was produced.
Corrections
When we're told about — or find — an outdated tariff figure, a factual error, or a broken calculation, we prioritise fixing it promptly. We don't silently rewrite history: material corrections to a page update that page's "last updated" date. Anyone can report an issue via our Contact page.
Advertising Independence
This site may display advertisements (including via Google AdSense) to support the cost of running it. Advertising has no influence on tariff data, calculation results, or editorial content — we do not accept payment from any DISCOM, state body, solar vendor, or advertiser in exchange for favourable figures, rankings, or coverage. Any sponsored content, if ever published, would be clearly labelled as such; we currently publish none.
What We're Not
We are not a government body, a SERC, a DISCOM, or a licensed financial advisor. We don't process payments, and we never ask for your consumer number, bank details, or OTP — official bill payment only ever happens on your DISCOM's own portal or app. See our Disclaimer for more.
