The total electricity bill amount is computed using the regulatory formula:

Net Bill = Energy Charges + Fixed Charges + FAC + Electricity Duty + Meter Rent - Government Subsidy
  • Energy Charges: Calculated by dividing consumption units into sequential progressive tariff tiers and multiplying each block by its specific slab rate (₹/kWh).
  • Fixed Charges: Calculated based on sanctioned load capacity: Load (kW) × Monthly Fixed Rate × Billing Months.
  • Fuel Surcharge (FAC): Variable cost adjustment per kWh consumed: Units × FAC Rate.
  • Electricity Duty: Statutory percentage tax applied to the sum of energy charges, fixed charges, and fuel surcharges.
  • Subsidy: State-specific slab discounts or free electricity units credited against eligible domestic consumption.
